Welcome to AUWCL!

All transfer students are required to attend the AUWCL Transfer Orientation on Thursday, August 21from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm in C217. At this session, we’ll share information and answer questions about academic advising and course scheduling, career and professional development opportunities, accommodations and disability support, co-curricular opportunities (like journal, competition teams, clinic, and externships), and other AUWCL-specific information. If you are a transfer student unable to attend this session, please email advising@wcl.american.edu.

We’re excited that you’re joining us this fall, but we also understand that you have previously participated in a JD Orientation and are likely comfortable with many of the skills and ideas that we are sharing as part of 1L Orientation. You are welcome, but are not required, to attend any of the 1L Orientation sessions listed in the full-time or part-time 1L schedules.

As students new to AUWCL, you may enjoy attending the Dean’s Welcome and Professional Oath (Monday evening or Tuesday) sessions to engage with the community. On Thursday before your required session, you may want to arrive earlier for the Student Resource Fair and Get to Know the Pence Law Library sessions. Of course, you are welcome to attend additional sessions if you are interested! Join any group that works for your schedule and attend as many or as few sessions as you’d like.
