ADL Audit of Antisemitic Incidents

The Anti-Defamation League Center on Extremism tracks incidents of antisemitic harassment, vandalism and assault in the United States. Since 1979, they have published this information in an annual Audit of Antisemitic Incidents.

Statistics

FBI Statistics

Since 1990, the federal government has published annual reports on hate crimes in the United States. The Hate Crime Statistics Act, 28 U.S.C. § 534 gives authority to the Attorney General to collect data “about crimes that manifest evidence of prejudice based on race, religion, sexual orientation, or ethnicity.” This data collection is facilitated by the Uniform Crime Reporting division of the FBI.

Project START

Project Start: A Pathway Approach to the Study of Bias Crime Offenders

A database that studies the incidence of bias crimes by constructing a database of 1,000 convicted bias crime offenders that is both national in scope and representative of multiple offender types. The dataset includes detailed information on offender demographics, socioeconomic measures, social relationships, and other life-course variables that may contribute to the formation of hate beliefs and the commission of bias crimes.
