  • Jury instructions are intended to communicate the plain meaning of law to jurors, and include:
    • Discussions of general legal principles
    • Specific instructions regarding the case at hand
    • Information about legal standards
    • Information about possible verdicts
  • Jury instructions are usually tailored to the jurisdiction and its presiding laws
  • May be called, “Model”, “Pattern” or “Approved” jury instructions
