Unofficial Reports

Those reports published without legislative or judicial authority, i.e., commercial or private publications.

United States Code (U.S.C.)

A multivolume published codification of federal statutory law.

United States Code Annotated (U.S.C.A.)

A multivolume publication (West/Thomson Reuters) of the complete text of the United States Code with historical notes, cross references, case notes of federal  and state decisions construing specific Code sections.

United States Code Congressional and Administrative News (U.S.C.C.A.N.)

A West Group publication in bound volumes that contains full text of new federal laws, congressional committee reports that detail histories of the laws,  signing statements, presidential proclamations, and executive  orders. Arranged in chronological order

United States Code Service (U.S.C.S.)

A multivolume publication (LexisNexis) of the complete text of the United States Code with historical notes, cross references, case notes of federal and state decisions construing specific Code sections.

United States Court of Appeals

A federal appellate court having jurisdiction to hear cases in one of  the 13 judicial circuits of the United States.

United States District Courts

A federal trial court having jurisdiction within its judicial district.

United States Reports

The official printed record of U.S. Supreme Court cases.
