Library Services Fall 2021

Library Access Fall 2021

The Pence Law Library welcomes new and returning AUWCL students, faculty, and staff back to the law library. The law library's normal semester schedule, including 24/7 access, begins August 16, 2021.  Entrance to the law library will be by card swipe.

AUWCL alumni may use the law library on a reservation basis, Monday to Friday, from 8am to 6pm. See below for more information.

Members of the public will not be able to physically use the law library until at least October 1 but may obtain research assistance by emailing

Pence Law Library COVID-19 Related Policies: The Pence Law Library requires all patrons to be masked while in the library and to observe all AU, WCL  and D.C. health protocols and procedures.

AUWCL students have 24/7 access to the law library. Reservations are no longer needed.

The law library remains closed to the public. 

Group Study Room Reservations

Group study rooms are located on the second and third floors of the law library and in the commons. Access to the rooms in the commons is by card swipe. The study rooms are intended for collaborative study. Two to four students may use a study room at a time. 

AUWCL students may reserve a group study room for up to two hours per day. Click here to make your reservation.

AUWCL alumni may use the law library on a reservation basis, Monday to Friday, from 8am to 6pm. Reservations can be made here.

Legal Rhetoric Open Memo Research Workshops

Join reference librarians for Zoom research workshops focused on the Legal Rhetoric open memo assignment. Talk to librarians about getting started with your research and efficiently finding the best sources on Westlaw Edge and Lexis+. There will also be time for Q&A.

All workshops will be on Zoom:
