Permissible Uses of Lexis

Lexis Policy on Use of Law School Educational IDs

Students may use their LexisNexis Law School Educational ID only for academic purposes. Academic purposes include

• class preparation and assignments
• research associated with moot court or law review/law journal
• research associated with pursuing a grant or scholarship
• service as a research assistant to a professor (either paid or unpaid)
• an unpaid internship, externship or clinic for school credit or graduation requirement

Academic purposes do not include research conducted for a law firm, corporation or other entity that is paying the student to conduct said research or that is passing along the costs of said research to a third party. These are deemed commercial purposes.

As a student at WCL, you have electronic access to a range of West Study Guides. To get started, go to http://subscription.westacademic.com/Login.aspx to create your FREE account.

Permissible uses of Westlaw

You may use Westlaw "for purposes directly related to your law school coursework (including pro bono and public service program, minimal law school paid stipend, unpaid public internships or externships that are part of your graduation requirements) or for bar preparation purposes.

Requesting a Student Account

• Go to www.bloomberglaw.com/activate
• Provide your name and WLC email address (you MUST use your student email address)
• You can disregard the activation code field
• Bloomberg will send you an email with access information
