Immigration Law Research: Treatises and Looseleafs

Treatises and Looseleafs

Treatises are single or multi-volume works on a particular legal topic.  They may be geared toward scholars or written for a legal practitioner.  Treatises provide explanation, analysis and commentary on a subject and contain references to primary legal sources such as cases and statutes.

A Looseleaf Service brings together different types of information concerning a particular topic or area of law. It is made up of pages or pamphlets filed in looseleaf binders, often in a multi-volume set. This format allows current information to be easily added to the existing materials. Looseleafs are updated frequently (quarterly, monthly, or even weekly). Many looseleafs are also available online.
