Digital Commons & Selected Works

Digital Commons @ American University Washington College of Law is an electronic repository of the research and scholarship of the American University Washington College of Law. It provides Washington College of Law the ability to showcase the intellectual productivity of its faculty, staff, researchers and students in one virtual place, as well as preserve and provide open access to their works. The repository is a service of Pence Law Library.

Selected Works by bePress allows you to showcase your research. It is a service provided by the library that can help you maximize your readership and measure its impact. Your research becomes discoverable in Google searches and you have the ability to track your readership through the scholarship dashboard.

Scholastica Submission

Pence Law Library maintains an institutional Scholastica Account and covers submission fees. When creating an account, faculty should be sure to use their @wcl.american.edu email address in order to avoid submission fees. For more information about account creation or maintenance please contact your liaison or reference@wcl.american.edu.

Pence Law Library also arranges Scholastica access for students. Students must have a faculty sponsor who confirms that the work is of publishable quality and agrees to work with the student to identify appropriate journals. If you are acting as a faculty sponsor, please contact Adeen Postar, apostar@wcl.american.edu, with the student's name and the title of the proposed article. Scholarship Tracking

Pence Law Library can help with options for locating citations to your publication. We also can help wtih creating individual profiles on various different sites including Google Scholar, Research Gate, SSRN, Web of Science, Mendeley, HeinOnline ScholarCheck and other services.
